PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ IGP Morowali Champions Family-School Synergy Through Parenting Seminar: Building a Stronghold for the Next Generation

Morowali, October 5, 2025 ¨C Amid the rapid industrial growth in Morowali Regency, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia, through its Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Morowali, continues to demonstrate that development is not solely about infrastructure and economic progress¡ªit is equally about shaping the character of future generations. Through a parenting seminar themed ¡°The First School Called Home¡± and ¡°The Home Longed for by Children and Partners,¡± PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ encouraged communities to reaffirm the vital role of families and schools as the frontline in protecting children from the threats of drugs and pornography.

Held over two consecutive days (October 4¨C5, 2025), the seminar brought together hundreds of participants from diverse backgrounds¡ªincluding educators, parents, community leaders, and local government officials¡ªto discuss the challenges of parenting in the digital and industrial era. Taking place at the Ahmad Hadie Hall in Bungku Tengah and Al-Mutakabbirin Mosque in Siumbatu Village, the event served as both a space for reflection and a tangible step toward strengthening the social and moral resilience of Morowali¡¯s youth.

Beyond a Seminar: A Collective Movement for a Better Future

Wafir, Head of PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s Bahodopi Project, emphasized that the initiative reflects the company¡¯s commitment to supporting sustainable human development.

¡°We believe industrial progress must go hand in hand with the quality of future generations. By fostering synergy between families and schools, we can build a nurturing and collaborative parenting ecosystem,¡± said Wafir.

The seminar featured two renowned national figures in parenting and character education: Elly Risman, a family psychologist and founder of the Kita dan Buah Hati Foundation, and Risman Musa, an education practitioner known for his approach to parent-school collaboration.

During her session, Elly Risman highlighted a startling fact: the neurological damage caused by exposure to pornography in children can be more severe than that caused by drugs. She stressed that this threat often goes unnoticed by parents, despite its deeply harmful impact.

¡°We cannot focus solely on the dangers of drugs while overlooking the threat of pornography. A gadget in a child¡¯s hand can become a gateway to invisible mental damage. Parents must remain vigilant and be fully present in their children¡¯s lives,¡± she urged.

Risman Musa added that synergy between schools and parents is no longer optional¡ªit is essential. He shared his experience implementing full-day learning programs with fathers at school, which significantly strengthened emotional bonds and mutual understanding between parents and children.

¡°Living alongside industry in Morowali presents unique challenges. Many children grow up with limited supervision due to their parents¡¯ demanding work schedules. Schools must take the initiative to actively involve parents, especially fathers, in their children¡¯s education,¡± he explained.

Government Support and Community Enthusiasm

The seminar was also attended by Morowali Regency Secretary Yusman Mahmud, representing the Regent of Morowali. In his remarks, he expressed appreciation for PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s initiative and underscored the critical role of parents in safeguarding children from negative influences.

¡°This is a major investment in the future of our children. The local government fully supports initiatives like this,¡± said Yusman.

Participants showed great enthusiasm. Sriwulan, a young elementary school teacher, shared that the seminar provided valuable insights for educators.

¡°As a young teacher who is not yet a parent, I gained a deeper understanding of how to guide children wisely,¡± she said.

This seminar marks the beginning of a collective movement to build homes that children and partners long for, and schools that work in harmony with families. In the face of modern-day challenges such as drugs and pornography, the presence of parents and teachers as a united front remains the strongest safeguard for the future of Morowali¡¯s children.
