Symbolizing Campus¨CMining Industry Synergy for Sustainability: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and Unanda Launch Tree-Planting Initiative

As part of its commitment to advancing sustainable development, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) partnered with students from Universitas Andi Djemma (Unanda) participating in the community service program (KKN) to carry out tree planting at their respective project sites. Tree seedlings were distributed to students at the Sawerigading Wallacea Biodiversity Park on Saturday, November 29, 2025.

This initiative also marked the celebration of Indonesia¡¯s National Tree Planting Day on November 28, 2025. Far beyond a ceremonial environmental event, the collaboration represents a strategic step to strengthen ties between industry and academia in fostering environmental awareness and sustainability.

¡°We want to create real-world learning opportunities for students, allowing them to see firsthand how sustainability principles, land reclamation, and environmental conservation are implemented in responsible mining operations,¡± said Yusri Yunus, Head External Relations Sorowako and SOA PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.

The partnership also aims to empower students as agents of change. Equipped with knowledge and field experience, KKN participants are expected to bring sustainability values to the communities they serve¡ªpromoting eco-friendly practices and building a culture of environmental responsibility.

Suardi, Head of LP2M at Universitas Andi Djemma Palopo and coordinator of the KKN program, emphasized the significance of this collaboration:
¡°For us in academia, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s program not only provides practical experience but also demonstrates the company¡¯s genuine commitment to sustainability. This approach enriches students¡¯ learning and proves that campus¨Cindustry collaboration can be a powerful force in protecting and preserving the environment,¡± he stated.

The PTVI¨CUnanda partnership reflects a tangible contribution to creating positive impacts in areas surrounding mining operations. Beyond strengthening academic¨Cindustry relations, this initiative underscores a shared commitment to preparing a generation that is environmentally conscious, adaptive, and ready to tackle future sustainability challenges.

Through student involvement, this tree-planting effort is expected to deliver long-term benefits while supporting environmental restoration and transformation in operational areas.
