Sustainable Recovery: Safeguarding Lake Towuti¡¯s Ecosystem Through Water Quality Testing
Towuti, 10 September 2025 ¡ª PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) continues its post-incident recovery efforts following the oil pipeline leak in Towuti District, East Luwu Regency, with a strong emphasis on scientific integrity and collaborative action. On the 19th day of the response, the Company has shifted its focus to ensuring the preservation of water quality in Lake Towuti¡ªone of the region¡¯s most vital environmental assets.
As part of its commitment to environmental stewardship, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ engaged a team of three experts from HAS Environmental on Wednesday (10/09/2025) to conduct water quality monitoring in the Lake Towuti area. Sampling was carried out using validated scientific methods and modern testing equipment to ensure accurate and accountable results.
The sampling route began near the dock area, continued toward the center of the lake, and extended to the vicinity of the river mouth. The activity concluded with water sampling from local residents¡¯ water tanks to assess the quality of household water storage systems.
Tri Wisnu Febrianto, an environmental specialist from HAS Environmental, led the sampling process and ensured that each stage was conducted in full compliance with established procedures.
¡°We apply validated scientific methods and advanced equipment to ensure the data we collect is both accurate and reliable. With a diverse range of sampling locations, the results will serve as a critical reference for ensuring water safety for both the environment and the community,¡± explained Tri Wisnu Febrianto.
Meanwhile, land-based recovery efforts continue. At Point 7, volunteers and four members of the SAR team from Batara Guru Rescue, Malili, have remained on standby from morning to evening over the past two weeks, supporting cleanup operations in affected areas.
Endra Kusuma, Head of External Relations at PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, emphasized the Company¡¯s dedication to a thorough and sustainable recovery:

The goal of these efforts is not only to restore environmental conditions but also to rebuild a sense of safety and confidence among the community.
As of day 19, 220 formal complaints have been recorded from six affected villages, with 48% successfully resolved. This data serves as tangible evidence of PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s commitment to addressing every concern with diligence and care.
