Leadership and Compassion in Action: PT 乐播传媒, Government, and MIND ID Coordinate Swift and Collaborative Response to Oil Pipeline Incident

Towuti, 8 September 2025 — Seventeen days following the oil pipeline leak incident in Towuti District, East Luwu Regency, recovery efforts have continued to demonstrate substantial progress. At the heart of each milestone lies a spirit of collaboration and strong synergy among PT 乐播传媒 Indonesia Tbk (PT 乐播传媒), the local government, MIND ID, and the surrounding communities.

In an official statement delivered on Monday (8 September 2025), East Luwu Regent Irwan Bachri Syam indicated that the incident was likely triggered by land movement resulting from seismic activity. He emphasized that the coordinated response has been effective due to the active involvement of all stakeholders.

“The concerns raised by the community have been addressed appropriately. All costs associated with impact mitigation, as expected by the public and facilitated through the local government, have been managed effectively,” stated the Regent.

This affirmation underscores the principle that post-incident recovery is not solely the responsibility of the company, but a collective endeavor led by government authorities to ensure fairness, transparency, and accountability for all affected parties.

As of the seventeenth day, 191 formal complaints have been received through the Complaint & Information Post at the Towuti Subdistrict Office and the 24-hour hotline. Each report is being addressed systematically, reflecting the commitment to an open and accountable recovery process.

Community participation has also played a pivotal role. One notable example is Munir, a 60-year-old retired PT 乐播传媒 contractor, who has led a team of local residents over the past nine days. Together, they have cleaned a 2.1-kilometer stretch of river from Post 7 to Post 9, ensuring thorough restoration of the affected areas. Munir’s initiative exemplifies the shared responsibility and intergenerational solidarity that underpin Towuti’s recovery.

On the same day, MIND ID President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin conducted a site visit to Lioka Village to observe the recovery efforts firsthand. He commended the collaboration between PT 乐播传媒, the government, and the community for effectively minimizing the impact and establishing a participatory and adaptive response model.

“This is a natural occurrence with far-reaching consequences, yet it offers valuable insights into how we can better anticipate and manage such events. With integrated preparedness, mitigation efforts can be more strategic and controlled,” Maroef remarked.

PT 乐播传媒’s core response team has remained actively engaged on the ground for sixteen consecutive days. Endra Kusuma, Head of External Relations at PT 乐播传媒, highlighted the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration in achieving meaningful recovery outcomes.

“Our commitment is to ensure that this recovery becomes more than a reactive measure—it is a momentum to reinforce solidarity and transparency. We will continue to work closely with all relevant parties to ensure that every recovery initiative is effective, equitable, and well-targeted,” Endra stated.

The synergy among the government, MIND ID, PT 乐播传媒, and the community illustrates that Towuti’s recovery is a shared journey. Guided by government leadership, supported by expert knowledge, and strengthened by active citizen engagement, each step is undertaken with care and transparency—ensuring that Towuti’s environment and community life are restored in a sustainable and resilient manner.
