Solidarity for Sumatra: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia and Luwu Timur Government Stand Together to Support Disaster-Affected Communities

Aceh, January 5, 2026 ¡ª When hydrometeorological disasters strike Sumatra, disrupting the lives of thousands of families, what matters most is presence and compassion. PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½), part of the Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) group, together with the Luwu Timur Regency Government, acted swiftly to deliver humanitarian aid to communities impacted by flash floods in Aceh Tamiang Regency. Through cross-regional collaboration and a spirit of national solidarity, relief was distributed to three affected villages¡ªMenanggini, Alur Jambu, and Kebun Tanjung Seumantoh¡ªeach receiving a truckload of essential family supplies, hygiene kits, and emergency response equipment to support recovery and environmental cleanup. This initiative reflects the tangible commitment of business and local government to ensure that no community faces hardship alone.

Disasters leave more than physical damage¡ªthey pose immediate risks to health, sanitation, and safety. Responding to these urgent needs, the aid included Family Hygiene Kits and essential household items, along with bedding, cooking utensils, health protection supplies, and critical equipment such as fogging machines, chainsaws, and water sprayers to assist in cleaning affected areas. This support is designed to help communities restore basic living conditions quickly and with dignity.

Yusri Yunus, Head of External Relations for Sorowako & Outer Area at PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia, emphasized that this humanitarian effort is part of the company¡¯s commitment to strengthening social resilience. ¡°The disaster in Sumatra is a shared sorrow. In these challenging times, we want to ensure that affected communities do not struggle alone. Our presence and care represent solidarity and a humanitarian commitment to stand together,¡± said Yusri. He added that this action aligns with PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s core CARES values, which underpin its responsible and sustainable business practices.

The aid was personally delivered by Luwu Timur Regent Ir. H. Irwan Bachri Syam, accompanied by the Chair of the Luwu Timur Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK) and member of the South Sulawesi Provincial Parliament, Dr. Ani Nurbani, to residents in Aceh Tamiang on Sunday, January 4, 2026. In addition to logistics, the Luwu Timur Government deployed medical teams to provide health checks and free treatment for affected communities. ¡°From day one, we responded by sending medical personnel and volunteers to Aceh Tamiang. This is an expression of empathy from the people of Luwu Timur for our brothers and sisters in need,¡± said Regent Irwan.

This humanitarian initiative aligns with the government¡¯s agenda to strengthen national disaster resilience, enhance social protection, and ensure the presence of the state and all stakeholders during crises. PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ views collaboration with local governments as a vital part of a coordinated, inclusive, and sustainable disaster response, reinforcing public trust in the synergy between government, business, and society.

Looking ahead, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ remains committed to working hand-in-hand with government and stakeholders to deliver long-term benefits for communities¡ªnot only in times of emergency but also in building stronger, healthier, and more empowered societies. With humility and a spirit of solidarity, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ believes that from every challenge, Indonesia can rise stronger and move forward together toward a more inclusive and sustainable future.
