Advancing Together: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and Local Communities Advance Recovery Through Scientific Rigor and Collective Action

Towuti, 7 September 2025 ¡ª On the fifteenth day of the oil pipeline leak response in Towuti District, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½) reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to a recovery process that is transparent, sustainable, and inclusive. The Company¡¯s strategy is anchored on two fundamental pillars: the integrity of comprehensive scientific data and the strength of community collaboration.

As of day fifteen, the joint response team¡ªcomprising the East Luwu Regency Government, BPBD, village authorities, and PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡ªhas received and documented 126 formal complaints through the Complaint & Information Post and a dedicated 24-hour hotline.

Impact assessments have identified 42 rice fields, 28 plantations, 19 fishponds, and 37 cases related to clean water access and livestock. These data points serve as the foundation for scientifically informed compensation mapping and recovery planning.

¡°The comprehensive database we have compiled is not merely a record of losses¡ªit is a strategic instrument for designing long-term solutions that are measurable, equitable, accountable, and grounded in scientific evidence,¡± stated Endra Kusuma, Head of External Relations at PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk.

Beyond technical assessments, the spirit of community solidarity has emerged as a vital force in the recovery process. Over the past five days, 60 residents from Lioka and Baruga Villages have participated in two rotating work groups, each consisting of 30 individuals, to assist in cleaning residual oil along the riverbanks.

Ali Bastian, a farmer from Molindowe Hamlet, shared his experience:

¡°PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ did not simply come to clean up¡ªthey invited us to be part of the process. We feel respected and valued for being directly involved in restoring the land and water we depend on daily.¡±

A similar sentiment was expressed by Asrul Akhmad, a resident of Matompi Village:

¡°The data collection has been very helpful. Our affected rice fields are now officially recorded, giving us confidence that our concerns are being taken seriously. We are patiently awaiting the process, recognizing the seriousness shown by PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ and the government.¡±

This integrated approach¡ªmerging scientific precision with community engagement¡ªwill serve as the cornerstone of a resilient and inclusive recovery led by PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½. The next phase will focus on restoring Towuti¡¯s ecosystem while reinforcing the social resilience of its communities.

¡°Our commitment is to ensure that this recovery becomes more than a reactive measure¡ªit is a momentum to strengthen solidarity, transparency, and the long-term sustainability of life in Towuti,¡± Endra concluded.
