Strengthening the Global Supply Chain: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s IGP Pomalaa Records First Nickel Ore Sales

Kolaka, 1 March 2026 ¨C PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½), a sustainable nickel company and a member of Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID), has officially recorded its first nickel ore sales from the Indonesia Growth Project (IGP) Pomalaa. This milestone marks a pivotal transition for the project¡ªfrom construction to a revenue?generating operational phase¡ªwhile reinforcing Indonesia¡¯s strategic role in the global critical minerals supply chain.

More than an operational achievement, this first shipment represents a crucial step in project de-risking, validating production system readiness, and strengthening the company¡¯s long-term growth fundamentals.

Nickel is a key component in lithium-ion batteries, particularly in high?nickel cathodes used in electric vehicles (EVs) and energy storage systems. As global electrification and the energy transition accelerate, demand for nickel is projected to continue rising in the decade ahead.

As one of the world¡¯s largest nickel resource holders, Indonesia plays a strategic role in this ecosystem. IGP Pomalaa supports the national downstreaming agenda by increasing domestic value creation through integrated mining and processing operations.

With a total integrated investment of approximately IDR 74.44 trillion (¡Ö USD 4.43 billion), IGP Pomalaa is one of the country¡¯s major strategic projects, designed to strengthen the foundation of Indonesia¡¯s nickel industry and enhance global competitiveness.

The first sales were made possible through the activation of the oresell areas at Pit PB5 and Pit PB1, engineered to optimize material flow and maintain production stability.

Both pits have a combined stockpile capacity of up to 4 million wet metric tons (Mwmt) of limonite ore, providing significant inventory flexibility and ensuring a reliable supply to the processing facilities in Pomalaa.

PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia¡¯s Director and Chief Project Officer, Muhammad Asril, stated: ¡°The inauguration of the oresell areas at Pit PB5 and PB1 is a strategic step to maintain production rhythm and ensure optimal material distribution. With accelerated infrastructure development, we remain committed to ensuring that IGP Pomalaa stays aligned with operational excellence and sustainable mining practices.¡±

The activation of these large-scale stockpiles enhances the stability of raw material supply, strengthens logistics resilience amid commodity market volatility, and confirms readiness for the full production phase.

Entering March 2026, IGP Pomalaa targets production of 300,000 tons of limonite per month, or approximately 9,677 tons per day. This ramp?up strategy is executed with discipline to ensure sustainable operations and optimal utilization of production capacity.

With the 4 Mwmt storage capacity and monthly production targets, the project maintains a robust inventory buffer to support consistent supply and reduce operational disruption risks.

Infrastructure Progress and Capital Efficiency

Accelerating infrastructure development remains a top priority to ensure efficiency and capital discipline. As of January 2026, overall construction progress for IGP Pomalaa has reached 65.76 percent, demonstrating on?track project execution.

Meanwhile, construction of the Main Haul Road (MHR) to the stockpile area has reached 40 percent completion. This route will serve as the backbone of material distribution from the mine to processing facilities and the port¡ªultimately improving hauling productivity and reducing potential logistics bottlenecks.

These developments strengthen the project¡¯s capital efficiency profile and improve visibility on medium? and long?term cash flows.
The progress also aligns with Indonesia¡¯s national downstreaming strategy, which seeks to boost domestic processing and integrate the industry from upstream to downstream to achieve higher added value within the country.

As part of MIND ID, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ remains committed to fostering a competitive, integrated, and sustainable nickel industry while creating long?term value for shareholders and all stakeholders.
