Projeto Rio Tanque: mais ¨¢gua, desenvolvimento e qualidade de vida para Itabira (MG)

Water is an essential resource for life, development, and the future of cities. In Itabira, the Rio Tanque Project moves forward as a structural initiative to expand water security and contribute to the quality of life of the population.

Families like that of Iris Gomes Cl¨¢udio will directly benefit from the arrival of more water at their home taps. A community leader from the Gomes community, Iris closely follows the implementation of the Rio Tanque Project and the transformations the initiative has been promoting, not only in her community, but also in the other localities served.

With more water available and a robust system, Itabira will be prepared for new opportunities and development cycles. The initiative reinforces ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½'s commitment to long-term solutions that integrate infrastructure, local development, and social well-being.

About the Rio Tanque Project
The Rio Tanque Project works are in their second year of execution and include the implementation of a new water intake and treatment system, with a capacity of up to 600 liters per second ¡ª higher than the municipality's current demand, estimated at around 400 liters per second. The structure includes a pipeline of approximately 25 kilometers, pumping stations, and a new Water Treatment Plant (WTP), which will be operated by the Itabira Autonomous Water and Sewage Service (SAAE) after the completion of the works.
