On March 21, celebrated as the International Day of Forests and Trees, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ reinforces its commitment to environmental preservation by highlighting the protection of more than 64,000 hectares of green areas in Minas Gerais ¡ª equivalent to approximately twice the size of Belo Horizonte.

Protected areas and environmental conservation in Minas Gerais

The set of areas preserved by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ includes different types of environmental protection. Among them are:

?    13 Private Natural Heritage Reserves (RPPNs), totaling around 6,000 hectares
?    Approximately 8,000 hectares in the process of becoming new protected areas
?    More than 29,000 hectares allocated for environmental compensation
?    Around 21,000 hectares of Legal Reserve

In addition, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has also directly contributed to the creation of important conservation units by donating approximately 28,000 hectares.

Partnerships and biodiversity protection
Another highlight is the voluntary partnership with ICMBio, which contributes to the protection of more than 50,000 hectares of the Mata Escura Biological Reserve, located in the Jequitinhonha Valley. These initiatives reinforce the company¡¯s strategic role in conserving Brazilian biodiversity, especially in regions of high ecological importance.
The proposal is clear: to demonstrate that mining can coexist with sustainable and responsible practices.

Commitment to future generations
By marking the International Day of Forests, ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ reinforces a central message: preserving the environment means investing in the future.
The protection of green areas in Minas Gerais represents not only an environmental effort but also a legacy for future generations.
