National K3 Month 2026 Officially Kicks Off: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Reinforces Safety as a Top Priority and Shared Responsibility

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) is more than a legal requirement¡ªit¡¯s a culture that must be embedded in every aspect of the mining industry. For PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½), part of the Mining Industry Indonesia (MIND ID) group, OHS stands as the cornerstone of its operations. This commitment aligns with the company¡¯s core values, CARES, particularly the principle of Accountability¡ªtaking full responsibility to ensure the safety of every individual.

As a tangible expression of this commitment, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has once again celebrated the Occupational Health and Safety (K3) Month. As in previous years, the program officially began with an opening ceremony at the Main Office in Plant Site, Sorowako on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. local time. The event was organized by the Health, Safety, Operational Risk, Environment, and Sustainability Operations (HSSER) Department and forms part of the implementation of regulations set by Indonesia¡¯s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM).

According to the ESDM circular, the theme for the 2026 National Safety Month is: ¡°Building a Professional, Reliable, and Collaborative OHS Management Ecosystem.¡± This theme underscores that effective OHS management requires competency-based professionalism, robust systems, and strong collaboration among all stakeholders.

The Regent of East Luwu, Irwan Bachri Syam, who served as the ceremony¡¯s inspector, emphasized that K3 Month is not merely ceremonial¡ªit is a moment to strengthen collective commitment to creating safe, healthy, and productive workplaces.

¡°Occupational health and safety is the foundation of business continuity, worker protection, and corporate competitiveness,¡± Irwan stated.

He reminded attendees that every workplace accident is not just a statistic¡ªit impacts human lives and families. Accidents, he said, are signals to continuously improve systems, behaviors, and workplace culture.

Closing his remarks, Irwan stressed that OHS must become a value and a culture, not just compliance with regulations.

¡°Safety is a shared responsibility¡ªmanagement, workers, partners, and all stakeholders,¡± he added.

Strengthening Safety Culture Through Action

National K3 Month will run for a full month, from January 12 to February 12, 2026. As highlighted by Yung Fajar Riyadi, Senior Coordinator for EHS Improvement, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has prepared a series of activities to reinforce safety culture, including:

  • Safety Talks and OHS outreach at four schools in PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s community development areas
  • Volleyball tournaments to foster teamwork
  • Health campaigns to raise wellness awareness
  • Safety Dojo Challenge to test safety skills
  • Open Water Exhibition at Lake Matano for water safety education
  • Fun Walk promoting a healthy lifestyle

All activities comply with regulations, including:

  • Ministerial Regulation No. 26/2018 on Good Mining Practices
  • Ministerial Decree No. 1827K/30/MEM/2018 on Technical Mining Guidelines
  • Directorate General Decree No. 185.K/37.04/DJB/2019 on Mining Safety Management Systems

Workplace safety is not just about today¡ªit¡¯s about ensuring every worker arrives healthy, works enthusiastically, and returns home safely. National K3 Month 2026 is a key moment to strengthen safety culture in East Luwu, particularly across PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s operations, for the sustainability of the company and the well-being of the community.

Productivity and safety must go hand in hand¡ªjust as PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s slogan says: Safety Yes, Production Yes, Productivity Yes.
