Engaging Stakeholders: PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Outlines Strategic Plan to Update Post-Mining Document for Sustainability

Malili, November 25, 2025 ¨C As part of its strategic commitment to responsible mine closure and long-term environmental sustainability, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Indonesia Tbk (PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½), a member of the MIND ID Group, is preparing to update its post-mining plan for the Sorowako Block.

The process began with a stakeholder consultation in Luwu Timur, held at the Sasana Praja Hall, Regent¡¯s Office, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. This initial dialogue marks a key step toward transparency and collaboration in revising the post-mining document.

The session was attended by Acting Regional Secretary of Luwu Timur, Ramadhan Pirade, PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s management team, sub-district heads from Nuha, Towuti, Wasuponda, and Malili, village representatives, community members, and technical stakeholders.

Andri Ardiansyah, Specialist for Biodiversity and Mine Closure at PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, explained that the update aligns with the company¡¯s strategic plan to reinforce its sustainability commitments.

¡°The previous document was based on permits valid until 2025. PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has now secured an extension until 2035 under a new Special Mining Business License (IUPK), which requires the post-mining plan to be revised accordingly,¡± he said.

The extended license means mining operations will continue until 2035, impacting land development projections, reclamation processes, and remaining open areas. The post-mining plan goes beyond ceasing operations¡ªit includes land rehabilitation, environmental management, dismantling unnecessary facilities, and ongoing monitoring.

¡°This is an initial consultation. The document is yet to be drafted, and we want to capture input from government and communities before moving forward,¡± Andri emphasized.

Stakeholders used the forum to voice aspirations, including strengthening CSR programs, ensuring environmental data transparency, ecosystem restoration, and creating post-mining economic opportunities for local communities.

In line with PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s values, all feedback will be documented and incorporated into the revised post-mining plan, which will be submitted to Indonesia¡¯s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Responding to the consultation, Acting Regional Secretary Ramadhan Pirade encouraged collective support for PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s agenda: ¡°PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is part of our community and contributes significantly to Luwu Timur¡¯s development. We must safeguard this partnership,¡± he said, drawing applause from attendees.

The transition from a Contract of Work to an IUPK license on May 3, 2024, introduced new obligations, including tax schemes, revenue sharing, and profit-sharing mechanisms. ¡°The IUPK framework ensures that regional governments receive a share of PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s net profits. This is an important point for all stakeholders to understand,¡± Ramadhan added.

This initial consultation underscores PT ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½¡¯s commitment to ensuring that every stage of its mining operations delivers long-term benefits for the environment and surrounding communities¡ªeven after mining activities conclude.
