Information about water overflow at F¨¢brica mine
We clarify that, in the early hours of this Sunday (25), there was an overflow of water with sediments from a pit at the F¨¢brica mine, in Ouro Preto (MG). The flow reached some areas of a company. People and the community in the region were not affected.
We have already informed the competent authorities, who are taking all necessary measures to ensure the protection of people, the community, and the environment. We are investigating the causes of the water overflow.
We emphasize that the incident has no relation whatsoever to the company¡¯s dams in the region, which remain unchanged in their stability and safety conditions and continue to be monitored 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
