North Laranjeiras Dam in Bar?o de Cocais Exits Emergency Level
The North Laranjeiras Dam, located at the Brucutu Mine in Bar?o de Cocais, Minas Gerais (MG), had its emergency level status officially ended by Brazil¡¯s National Mining Agency (ANM) on Monday, February 9.
Previously classified as Level 1 emergency, the structure received a positive Stability Condition Declaration (DCE) at the end of last year. The declaration was issued by independent external auditors and certifies the dam¡¯s safety and structural stability.

The termination of the emergency level follows reinforcement works carried out on the dam, which increased its safety factors in compliance with regulatory requirements established under Brazilian legislation.
With ANM¡¯s decision, the North Laranjeiras Dam is now classified under alert level status. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ continues to implement the necessary regulatory measures to end the alert condition with the Agency.
The North Laranjeiras Dam is the second structure to exit emergency level status this year. In January, the Maravilhas II Dam, located at the Pico Mine in Itabirito (MG), also received a positive Stability Condition Declaration.
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ continues to strengthen the safety of its operations, prioritizing the protection of people, communities, and the environment.
The company permanently maintains monitoring and control measures for its geotechnical structures, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, through its Geotechnical Monitoring Centers.
