Congonhas hosts Capital of illuminated faith, a Christmas Village supported by ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½

The historic city of Congonhas is embracing the holiday spirit with the Capital Iluminada da F¨¦ event, an initiative promoted by the local government with support from ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½.

The initiative transforms the Centro Cultural da Romaria into a Christmas Village, featuring cultural attractions, gastronomy, themed workshops and activities for all ages.

The program began on December 12 and runs through January 11, offering residents and visitors a welcoming space to celebrate the history, faith and traditions of the city.

Culture, leisure and tradition for the whole family

During the event period, visitors can enjoy a diverse schedule that includes cultural performances, creative workshops, culinary experiences and activities for both children and adults.

One of the highlights is the visit from Papai Noel, who welcomes families in a specially designed Christmas setting for photos and interaction.

The initiative aims to strengthen the sense of community, encourage tourism and provide leisure opportunities in one of the city¡¯s most important cultural spaces.

Promoting culture and tourism in Congonhas

Beyond celebrating Christmas, Capital Iluminada da F¨¦ also highlights Congonhas¡¯ tourism potential, as the city is widely recognized for its historical and religious heritage.

By combining culture, tradition and creative economy, the event helps boost local commerce while expanding entertainment options for residents and visitors.

The expectation is that the initiative will further establish Congonhas as a cultural and religious tourism destination in Minas Gerais, especially during the year-end holiday season.

Invitation to the community

With special lighting, themed scenography and a program designed for different audiences, the Christmas Village invites everyone to take part in the celebration.
